The Deanship of Development and Quality is one of the supporting deanships at Bisha University, which was established by a royal decree in 1435 AH. It is affiliated with the University Agency for Educational Affairs. One of the most important goals of the deanship is to achieve quality assurance and continuous improvement of all activities and operations carried out by the colleges, departments and various units at the university. The deanship has many contributions in all sectors of the university, as the deanship participates in all activities related to developing the university, such as preparing the university's strategic plan and following up on its implementation and development, preparing the university's self-study as one of the main requirements for institutional accreditation, which the university obtained in March 2021 in full until 2028, and providing technical support to the university's units to prepare their own strategic plans. The deanship also participated in coordinating, preparing and following up on the preparation for programmatic accreditation for thirty-four of the university's programs, in which four programs achieved full accreditation from the NCAAA and six programs in the Colleges of Engineering and the College of Computers and Information Technology achieved full accreditation from the ABET organization, and the rest of the programs are awaiting the final result from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. This blessed entity comes as a first step towards accrediting all academic programs at the university by the end of 2025, in accordance with the decisions of the Ministry of Education in this regard. The Deanship is currently providing the necessary technical support and following up on the initial stages of preparation for accrediting 24 other academic programs during the current academic year, followed by the rest of the other programs in the following academic year. The Deanship is also keen to organize various training programs for all categories of university members and the surrounding community, in addition to organizing a summer forum that includes many events and training workshops in which experts in the field of training from faculty members at the university and outside it speak. This is a brief overview to shed light on the Deanship of Development and Quality, which is the driving force behind all university activities related to the development and continuous improvement of the university’s classification in various local, regional and international classifications to reach the highest level of quality of services provided by the university to its beneficiaries from members, community members and its bodies.
