Program’s Mission

​Providing high-quality education in Arabic language and literature, producing scientific research, preserving the language of the Quran, and supplying the community with scientifically and skillfully qualified graduates. Additionally, contributing to community development and meeting its human and developmental needs.


Educational Objectives

    • Equipping students with the linguistic skills necessary to enrich their intellectual, cultural, and artistic knowledge.
    • Preparing qualified individuals in Arabic language and literature to work in both the public and private sectors.
    • Contributing to scientific research and aligning it with human and developmental needs in the Kingdom.
    • Serving the community and promoting continuous education by offering training courses, investment initiatives, and academic gatherings in the field of Arabic language and literature.
    • Establishing an academic bridge between the ancient and contemporary Arabic linguistic and intellectual heritage through diverse methodologies.


Learning Outcomes

    Knowledge:

    1. Understands research methodologies in Arabic language studies, methods for writing research, handling scientific sources according to methodological principles, and documenting texts and citations in both print and electronic sources.
    2. Is familiar with scientific principles, methodological foundations, and modern theories for text analysis; understands major literary issues across various literary periods.
    3. Is knowledgeable about rhetorical and critical issues, both classical and modern, including the relationship between rhetoric, argumentation theories, pragmatics, and stylistics; understands the intellectual backgrounds of critical schools and the criteria for acceptance, rejection, approval, or disapproval of critical methodologies and literary texts.

    Skills:

    1. Differentiates between various research methodologies, discusses scientific opinions, and expresses personal viewpoints.
    2. Distinguishes between different types of texts, identifying their artistic and thematic characteristics, and understands stylistic differences and artistic features among literary genres and texts.
    3. Explains key rhetorical and critical issues, differentiates between various methodologies, clarifies their intellectual backgrounds, analyzes texts rhetorically, applies constructive criticism principles, and derives critical judgments based on scientific standards.
