Program message

Preparing competitive and creative mechanical engineers who are scientifically and practically distinguished and able to adapt to modern mechanical engineering techniques with the ability to conduct scientific research that contributes to the development of society.


Educational objectives

    ​The ME program expects the graduates within a few years of graduation to attain the following:
    1.  Will have acquired new knowledge and expertise through Professional development opportunities or advanced education.
    2.  Will have successful careers in mechanical engineering and beyond and will have assumed professional roles of increasing responsibility and impact.
    3.  Will successfully serve the profession by acting in a professional and ethical matter.

    1:  Demonstrate knowledge on basics of science, mathematics, and engineering principles Skills

    2: Demonstrate knowledge of the principles, and theories of discipline-related industrial practices and procedures.

    Skills

    1:  An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.

    2: An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factor.

    3: An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.

    4: An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

    5: An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

    1:  An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal context
