University of Bisha Highlights the Role of Department Heads in Ensuring Quality of the Educational Process and Enhancing Academic Performance

On Monday, October 14, 2024, the University of Bisha held a panel discussion as part of the Quality Forum Initiative, titled “The Role of Department Heads in Ensuring Quality of the Educational Process.” The session was attended by the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Mohsen Safhi, university vice-presidents, deans of colleges and supporting deanships, and a number of faculty members.The session was moderated by Dr. Mohammed bin Eid Al-Shammari, Dean of the Deanship of Development and Quality, with contributions from Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Daleel, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr. Ali Yasser Al-Qarni, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. The discussions covered various topics aimed at enhancing the quality of education and improving academic performance within departments.During the session, the importance of assigning tasks according to the interests of faculty members was highlighted, as this contributes to the distinction of academic programs and the effective attainment of academic accreditation. The discussion also emphasized the leadership roles of department heads in problem-solving and fostering collaboration among faculty, noting that department heads’ awareness of their responsibilities plays a key role in creating an academic environment that encourages creativity and innovation.The speakers affirmed that the department head serves as a pivotal point of communication within and beyond the department, which enhances effective coordination and integration, contributing to the improvement of the educational process and the development of academic performance.​
