University of Bisha Students Achieve a New Milestone, Winning Second Place at the 7th European International Conference on Industrial Engineering

In a new achievement, a team of female students from the Industrial Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Bisha, earned second place in the simulation competition supported by SIEMENS at the 7th European International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, held in Augsburg, Germany, with participants from 46 countries worldwide. The winning project, supervised by Professor Khalid Ali Abu Hasal, involved designing an intelligent system to predict carbon dioxide emissions produced by traditional wood-burning heating systems in homes during winter. The simulation was conducted using SolidWorks and Proteus, with results showing that the system reduces CO₂ levels, enhances energy efficiency, and maintains a comfortable indoor temperature. The system offers an effective solution to improve indoor air quality, reduce health risks, and create a sustainable environment. The award-winning students are Dohaa Abdullah Al-Subaie, Rasha Abdulaziz Al-Shamrani, Almaha Bandar Al-Khubti, Tasneem Mohammed Al-Dosari, Mona Hayaf Al-Fouih, and Wojdan Hamoud Al-Khathami.
