University of Bisha Enhances Sustainability Path by Signing Cooperation Agreement with "Ecoryx" for Carbon Management
University of Bisha has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ecoryx, a company specializing in environmental sustainability solutions and carbon emissions management. This step aims to enhance the university's partnerships with the private sector and support national directions towards sustainability and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Khaled bin Ayed Badie Al Harthy , representing His Excellency the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Mohsen Safehi. The company was represented by the General Manager, Mr. Malik Al-Shahrani.
The memorandum of understanding aims to expand joint cooperation areas in environmental sustainability, calculation and management of carbon footprint, environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), in addition to cooperation in scientific research and innovation, organizing lectures, evaluating specialized training programs and workshops. This will contribute to transferring knowledge and practical expertise to the university environment.
The Dean of the College of Engineering confirmed that signing this memorandum comes within the university's keenness to align its academic and research programs with pressing global issues, foremost among them climate change and sustainability. He pointed out that cooperation with a specialized company like Ecoryx will contribute to qualifying students and graduates, providing them with advanced practical skills in carbon management and environmental impact assessment.
For its part, Ecoryx expressed its happiness with this partnership, confirming its aspiration to implement joint projects and initiatives, support educational initiatives, and contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 related to environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
This memorandum comes within the university's efforts to enhance its strategic partnerships with specialized entities locally and internationally, which enhances its position in serving the community, supports its journey toward academic and research excellence, and contributes to preparing national competencies capable of facing future challenges in sustainability, technology and the environment.
