Environment Week 2022
On the occasion of the Saudi Environment Week, and under the patronage of His Excellency the President of University of Bisha, Prof. Mohammad Bin Mohsen Safhi, and in the presence of the Vice Rector, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al-Ajaim, and the Dean of the College of Science, His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Owaid, and in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Bisha Governorate, the College held events to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment for the sake of society and urge attention to it.
Under the slogan “Our Environment" Our Responsibility, the events were opened by His Excellency Dr. Eid Al-Osaimi, Vice Dean of the College of Science for Educational Affairs.
Then the events began with a lecture on the environment and society, which gives a clear account on the most prominent challenges facing the environment and how to reduce these challenges and preserve the environment for the future and coming generations, this talk was presented by the head of the Biology Department, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Bin Ftayes Bin Kadasa. The second lecture dealt with plastic pollution and its effect, damages to the environment and how to reduce the uses of plastic and keep our environment healthy for the society, the talk was presented by Dr. Fahd Abd Al Galil.
The environment week activities were ended up by a campaign of afforestation in the back garden of the college with seedlings of solar plants, in which the vice rector, dean, the vice dean, the faculty members, and male and female students were participated.
