Application definition:
The application is a website that operates on a website to register voluntary blood donors, and it was implemented as a graduation project for students of the Community College of the University of Bisha.

The website address is:
bloodpalm.net

How the application works:

The application works by the following mechanism:

  • The volunteer registers himself via the registration form provided on the website (bloodpalm.net).
  • The application sends an activation code to the donor's mobile to verify that the mobile number is correct.
  • When needed, the blood bank supervisor at King Abdullah Hospital uses the app to send text messages to registered donors.
  • Sending messages is done in a smart way, as the application sends messages to people with the required blood type + compatible ones.

Application features:
The unique features provided by the application are:

The donation calls are made through the blood bank at King Abdullah Hospital, and this is according to the global health guidelines that have decided that blood donation must be made by a doctor’s decision and through a hospital with operations. Calls are made by a registered user in the system
Confidentiality of data: unlike all voluntary blood donation websites available on the web, the app does not display the donor data publicly. All donation calls are made automatically via text messages.
When registering a donor for the first time, the application sends a message to activate the mobile phone, to ensure:
The validity of the mobile number.
The mobile number is in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Donation appeal messages are made for people with the required species + compatible factions.
Donation appeal letters take into account the permissible period between donation and the next donation, which should not be less than 60 days.
Excluding registrants who do not respond to a certain number of calls, in order not to waste the cost.

Application version for smart devices:
A version of the application has been provided that works on the Android system, to be installed from the Google Play Store.
The advantage of this version is to make calls through the reporting mechanism available in smart devices without the need for SMS. This version depends on the user's device connection to the Internet.
A version that works on the iPhone system will be provided
