Programs and Study Plans Unit
About the unit:
It is an academic administrative unit linked to the university’s vice president for educational affairs, and it is concerned with following up the preparation, approval and implementation of study plans for the departments of colleges and scientific programs at the university.


mission :
Ensure that the study plans are fully available in the colleges for all academic levels.
Ensure the availability of descriptions for the academic courses according to the study plans in the colleges, and according to the form approved by the National Authority for Teaching Quality and Academic Accreditation.
Follow up on faculty members, and urge them to distribute short descriptions to students at the beginning of each semester.
Setting the necessary organization for the unit files (activities - circulars - study plans - descriptions) and administrative communications (incoming and outgoing) and faxes related to the unit’s work, in order to ensure the speed and ease of referencing the plans and descriptions of the academic courses.
Inventorying the books needed by faculty members, and coordinating with the college library to provide books and references commensurate with the needs of the departments.
Conducting an exploratory study at the end of each semester to measure the suitability of the contents of the courses with the scientific capabilities and capabilities of the students.
Contacting the University Agency for Educational Affairs at the university at the end of each semester with the aim of coordinating with it and reviewing the latest developments regarding study plans and the accompanying descriptions to be circulated to faculty members in the colleges.
Informing the university administration about any developments related to the work of the unit and the developments on the study plans and course descriptions.
Laying down rules, principles and standards for developing study programs and plans.
Implementing workshops and introductory meetings with the aim of establishing the foundations and standards for developing and approving study plans.
Defining the objectives of the study plans, describing the courses according to the agreed criteria, and clarifying the expected outcome.
Adopting the latest methods and techniques used internationally to develop curricula and benefit from the expertise of prestigious universities in this field.
Final review of study plans and programs after approval by the colleges' councils in preparation for submitting them to the University Council.
Finding ways to eliminate the phenomenon of students obtaining ready-made research from some quarters.
Creating a website that explains the unit's goals and displays the steps and models necessary for development.

Services provided by the department:
1- Looking at study plans received from colleges and taking the necessary recommendations regarding them.
2- Proposing programs and study plans for new colleges.
3- Providing opinion and advice regarding raising the performance of the university’s academic units.
4- Updating the general framework of study plans on which the university colleges are based when developing or developing their study plans at the university level.
5- Review the new and developed study plans for the colleges and ensure that they achieve all the requirements of the general framework.
6- Participating in evaluating the feasibility of undergraduate majors and ascertaining the extent of the need for the labor market and the requirements of development in the Kingdom.
7- Participation in identifying areas and priorities for cooperation and partnership in educational fields at the university level.
8. Reviewing and approving periodic reports, forms and guides on study plans at the university level.
9- Study what is received by the unit or what is assigned to it by the Vice-President for Educational Affairs in relation to the tasks of the unit.
10- Supervising the development plans set and setting timetables for their implementation at the college level.
11- Supervising the development of study plans and programs in colleges, and determining their compatibility with international standards and labor market requirements.
12- Preparing reports on study plans and programs in university colleges and submitting them to His Excellency the Vice President for Educational Affairs for approval by the University Council.
